Dog crate training should be done at a very early age, while your dog is still a puppy. Beginning its training at an early age is beneficial because this way your puppy would grow up knowing that his crate is his home, and that’s the place where it will spend a lot of time.

Crate training shouldn’t be done in any way, you should make it fun and enjoyable for your puppy. And not just crate training, the entire training process should be something that your dog lies and can’t wait to do. If you make it look like playtime, your dog will learn a lot quicker.

As always, crate training can be done at home, by yourself, without having to pay any money to special trainer. But, if you feel uncomfortable teaching your dog how to stay in his crate, or you think you won’t be able to train your dog properly, it is better to call a professional trainer.
